About Me
I was born in Italy and left for the UK when I was 19. After several years of living in London, I went to Egypt for a couple of years and, while there, I took advantage of the complete change of experience to take up painting. The country, the people, and what I perceived as a mixture of harshness, spirituality and beauty, inspired me. Also, I had a fantastic Egyptian teacher who was bossy, hyper-critical but also a great motivator. Upon my return to the UK, I was resolved not to let this expressive side of me slip through the cracks of daily routine! I still remember the feeling of excitement at my first exhibition in Cairo, when I realized that creating is not just a personal experience but it's for sharing with others. I have exhibited my work in galleries in Egypt, London, Westerham, Croydon and Brighton, amongst other venues. Several of my paintings are in private collections in the UK, Italy, USA and Egypt.
I am an eclectic artist who draws her inspiration from her surroundings and her responses to them. I hope you enjoy meandering through my virtual gallery and remember that your constructive comments are always very appreciated! The viewer's response to one's work adds an extra dimension of excitement to the creative process! I wish to make my paintings affordable to people who would like original art on their walls because I believe that art should inspire anybody and be accessible to all.
